Metz, an Internet city
The city of Metz has been awarded "Internet City @@@@@" recognition five times, emphasizing its commitment to enable its inhabitants to benefit from new information and communication technology, notably with the creation of multimedia access zones for the general public.
As confirmation of its dynamic approach to the economy, Metz has established several business parks such as the Technopole, France’s number 1 advanced telecommunications park, a declaration of its active support towards innovation.
The "QuattroPole" network brings together the cities of Luxembourg, Metz, Sarrebruck and Trèves allowing for a synergy between them, with a view to forming a virtual European metropolis using modern communication technology to transform common projects into reality.

WiFi hotspots
The city of Metz has signed the "city of innovation" charter with France Télécom. The charter will help fulfil the numerous projects in development, such as WiFi development in public and private locations, transformation of the city’s Internet site into synthesized speech, easy access to Information & Communication Technologies and the broadcast of practical information on public or personal terminals for people on the move.
