Metz and garden

Right in the heart of the city, on the Ste Croix Hill, there are the Mediterranean-inspired Jardin des Tanneurs, and the wonderful Cloître des Récollets (14th century), which is now home to the European Institute of Ecology and the Municipal Archives, as well as the Jardin des Simples where you can discover or rediscover plants with medicinal properties.

The vast French-style garden of the Esplanade, in the district of the old Citadelle, shows off its elegant statues and harmonious jets of water just a stone's throw from the city's busy shopping streets.

Option : with your bus, visit the Jardin Botanique, a landscaped park over 4.4 hectares created in 1866 and a member of the “Jardins sans Limites” network.
