Metz gardens
Right in the heart of the town, on Sainte-Croix hill, you will find the Tanneurs garden, inspired by the Mediterranean, and the splendid Récollets Cloisters (14th century), which today houses the European Institute of Ecology and the Municipal Archives, as well as a Physic Garden where you will able to discover, or rediscover, a variety of medicinal plants.
The vast Esplanade French formal garden, in the old citadel district, reveals its elegant statuary and harmonious fountains a stone's throw away from the town's shopping streets.
Option : with your coach, visit the Botanical Garden, a 4.4-hectares landscaped park created in 1866, and a member of the “Jardins sans Limites” network.

Sublime stained glass windows
The art of light par excellence, stained glass windows are present everywhere in Metz's religious edifices. This tour proposes a discovery of the stained glass windows going from the medieval period through to contemporary creations, notably the stained-glass windows in Metz Cathedrale and those designed by Jean Cocteau in St Maximin's Church.

Quartier de l'Amphitheatre

The renovation of the Quartier de l'Amphitheatre is based on two key ideas: a rich urban mix and sustainable development. It welcomes a wide range of activities, it's a lively meeting place that's open for business.
It is the showcase for a number of famous architects: Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines, Nicolas Michelin, Jean-Paul Viguier, Jean-Michel Wilmotte, Christian de Portzamparc, and the designer Philippe Starck.

Rabelaisian Stroll
This walk through the medieval town conjures up hostelries and gastronomy through the ages.

Medieval and Renaissance Metz
Sainte-Croix hill, the historic heart of the town, has kept a medieval feel with its narrow winding streets, its little squares and mansions. This walk takes you past the Cour d'Or museum, the Saint-Livier mansion to the Récollets cloisters and the remains of the house in which Rabelais stayed, to Place Saint-Louis, where we can admire the Italian-influenced medieval architecture. This tour includes the Cathedral.
