PLACE SAINT JACQUES

Address :

PLACE SAINT JACQUES
Place Saint-Jacques
57000 METZ

Introduction :

This lively public square edged with cafés restaurants and bars, was once the heart of the Roman city and was the site of its busy forum. The square gets its name from a church built here in the 12th century, it was demolished in 1565 as it was seen as a threat to the newly built citadel. At Christmas, the terraces are replaced by the wooden chalets and spiced-wine smells of the Christmas market.
