Introduction

The French Disability Act (see text at www.legifrance.gouv.fr) requires all public sites to be accessible to people with disabilities. On the web, this law follows on from the WAI, Web Accessibility Initiative. The aim is to create websites which can be navigated and understood by all types of user, regardless of the software used: browsers in all operating systems, Braille display and speech software.
We have taken great care to make these pages accessible, however if you feel that accessibility could be improved in any way, please share your comments and suggestions with us: contact@tourisme-metz.com

Accessibility

Ergonomics and navigation

According to the WAI guidelines , the website of Metz Tourist Office uses simple rules of use and ergonomics. Thus, while the site is based on the same layout and the same navigation : with the logo that returns the user to the home , a panel menus , possibly a secondary left navigation and footer .

Top of pages , are a band consisting of links to particular contact page .
You can also find a search engine at top of pages, and using the sitemap.

A breadcrumb located below the yellow navigation bar and available on each page tells the reader where he is . This is an additional aid to navigation.

In the upper strip photos search engine , you will find a small bar composed of 2A and a Readspeaker button. At the pictograms will help you increase the font of the text displayed and the button will give you access to an audio reading of the texts ( speech synthesis ) .

Images and graphics

Site design is based on the WAI guidelines. All images used for graphical design are handled by style sheets and do not impede the reading of texts by speech synthesis software. These images disappear if you disable stylesheets using the options of your browser. Images for illustration are described through alternative texts. No image contains text information, unreadable text browsers, braille or speech.

  • The pages are structured using h1 ... h6 titles, used in the correct order.
  • Information forming lists of items are tagged using ul elements ol and dl.
  • Tables are only used on this site for structuring data, not presentation.
