The Christmas Markets in Metz: from 19th to 30th December 2021
Good news! The people of Metz and tourists can once again enjoy the magic of Christmas! Rediscover the child in you as you browse the 5 main squares* in Metz where 150 chalets have been installed.The Christmas Markets are organized by the Federation of Merchants of Metz.
Place de la Comédie: the gourmand’s square

Place Saint Louis: village of traditions
With chalets and rides.
Place de la République-Esplanade: between ice and light
Christmas pyramid, the Quality MOSL chalet, chalets, ice rink/ice road, toboggan run, big Christmas tree ans creche, big rides.

With chalets and big wheel.
Place Saint Jacques: colours and flavours
With chalets and rides.

The agency Inspire Metz - Tourist Office can respond to queries concerning COVID 19 health crisis regulations concerning this event.
From December 4th, any person aged 12 or more has to provide the result of a negative PCR or antigen test carried out less than 24 or 48 hours prior to departure, in order to enter France.

Saint Nicolas under the sign of fire and light: 4th & 5th December
The 1st weekend of the month of December will be marked by the Saint Nicolas festivities. To mark the occasion, the City of Metz will be offering a special cultural programme of events as well as an exceptional illumination of several sites in the city throughout December, with original light projections on the façades of the most emblematic buildings!A not-to-be-missed winter event, a programme of artistic fairground rides and shows (Lorraine legends, marionettes, shadow theatre, street and fire theatre, etc.), from the Place de la Comédie to the Opera-Theatre de l’Eurométropole de Metz, via the Temple Neuf, will be accessible.

The parade, in the presence of Saint Nicolas and Père Fouettard, will be revisited by different associations from Metz who will present a collective work. And for the first time this year, the participants and passers by will be invited to walk along with music and light the streets of Metz with lanterns to share a friendly and poetic moment.
