With the opening of the Centre Metz Congrès Robert Schuman (Metz Robert Schuman Conference Centre) in September 2018, Metz Métropole, the City of Metz and the different historic destination partners are committed to the development of business tourism, in consistency with the large industries of economic development in the area.
This dynamic first grew with the creation of the Congress Office of Eurométropole Metz, then the creation of the local “Inspire Metz” brand, and finally the creation of the travel agency with the same name which unites business tourism (Bureau des Congrès), leisure tourism (Tourist office) and economic development (welcome and support of businesses) expertise.
The Bureau des Congrès plays an essential role in the reception and development of professional events: conventions, seminars, symposiums, conferences, product launches...
It is organisers’ first choice guide, acting to facilitate events and bring its partners together.
Its missions are:
In order to ensure the quality of services given by local service providers (hotels, Metz-Nancy-Lorraine airport, SNCF, coach operators, taxis...) and to guarantee the satisfaction of professional events organisers and participants, a Business Tourism charter for the destination to Amnéville-les-Thermes has been established, making the reception policy official.
The Centre Metz Congrès Robert Schuman is the destination’s flagship facility for hosting events. Located one minute from the TGV train station, opposite Centre Pompidou-Metz and close to the historic centre, this building has the most recent technologies, a 1200 seat adaptable auditorium, 3400 m² of exhibition spaces and 14 commission rooms, with all the latest features.
There are also around forty other event venues, including prestigious locations such as the Arsenal, Saint-Pierre aux-Nonnains, the Centre Pompidou-Metz, Le Royal, the Château de Courcelles, and more unusual venues such as third space Bliiida and the south stand of the FC Metz Stadium. This variety of venues means that all types of events can be catered for, regardless of size.
The hotel offer is also well suited, with recent openings and renovations. There are 2,700 hotel rooms rated 2 to 4 stars, that’s more than 800 rooms located within a 15-minute walk of the Convention Centre.
In March 2025, the first hotel entirely designed by Philippe Starck opened in Metz: the Maison Heler, part of the Curio by Hilton collection, it has 104 rooms, two restaurants and a rooftop bar.
