Introduction
The Hôtel de Burtaigne was built by the de Gournay family in the early 16th century. The medieval influence is still visible in the low, diamond-shaped roof, set back from the façade, and the small windows in the attic, the top floor. Nevertheless, its architecture is moving away from the Italian model and more in line with that of the French Renaissance.
