Introduction

Discovering the Forgotten Pharaoh in Metz retraces one of history's greatest archaeological explorations.

In 1922, just over 100 years ago, the Valley of the Kings revealed an extraordinary discovery, at the heart of the Tutankhamun exhibition. This famous Egyptian region is home to numerous tombs of pharaohs, nobles and royal families.

On November 26, British archaeologist Howard Carter and his billionaire patron Lord Carnarvon entered Tutankhamen's tomb for the first time in 3,200 years. They had just discovered a fabulous treasure!

The Tutankhamun exhibition retraces one of the greatest archaeological explorations in history, led by Howard Carter. It was this exploration that led to the discovery of the tomb of the tragically ill-fated young pharaoh.

Come and discover the treasures of Pharaonic Egypt and unravel the mysteries surrounding Tutankhamun's death and his tomb!
