Introduction
For its new project, the EPO African Trio combines the ancestral rhythms and hypnotic grooves of West Africa with Black poetry and dance.
Set to the sounds of percussion, clarinet, and flute, the performance features texts written by Caribbean, African, and African American authors, brought to life and staged by actor/performer Otomo De Manuel. The movements of dancer and choreographer Boukson Séré complete this multifaceted tableau, fueled by improvisation and mutual inspiration, where each element draws on the others to offer the audience a total sensory experience.
