Introduction
Through her program *Scéalta na Mara*, Ionnda tells these “stories of the sea” and sings a repertoire that, in both its melodies and lyrics, touches the heart and stirs the soul. These are often stories of women—testimonies to the broader history that has sometimes been silenced or forgotten—stories of wars, forced departures, and immigration.
Through legends, fantastical tales, as well as songs of labor and celebration, Ionnda presents an intimate and richly varied concert, performing traditional and folk music inspired by those who carried it forward and passed it down before her.
