Introduction
What do the old barracks, factories, railroad yards, and abandoned buildings that shape the Metz landscape have in common? Behind these places—sometimes forgotten—lie entire chapters of the region’s history and its transformations. The exhibition “Metzamorphoses—Metz’s Brownfields: Heritage in Motion” invites you to discover the iconic brownfields of the Metz metropolitan area, their origins, their evolution, and the new uses emerging there, through 17 illustrated panels and a series of photographs. Through the combined perspectives of geographers and urban planners, you’ll explore the trajectories of these spaces, from their past to their future.
Exhibition conceived and produced by the Moselle Urban Planning Agency (AGURAM) in partnership with the Euro-Metropolis of Metz and the Cultural Heritage Department (City of Art and History designation) of the City of Metz.
