Introduction

To mark European Heritage Days, the Metz Municipal Archives are opening their doors—and, exceptionally, their storage facilities—to give the public a glimpse into their history, their missions, and a behind-the-scenes look at archival preservation.

The exhibition “La Foire de Mai: A History of the Funfair” has been extended through this weekend, which will be the last chance to visit it.

On Friday, there will also be an official presentation of the collection of Albert Haefeli (1909–1987), a historian, heraldist, and artist from Montigny-lès-Metz. This event will be led by Matthieu Casali, a historian and member of the Lorraine Society of History and Archaeology.
