Concert - Les grandes pages du répertoire pour vents

Introduction

This concert with commentary (without an intermission) aims to introduce the audience to two major works from the great classical repertoire for wind ensemble.

During this “initiatory” journey, the audience will discover the secrets of that masterpiece of wind ensemble literature: Mozart’s serenade known as the “Gran Partita.” (KV 361). It will feel as though you’re watching a screening of Milos Forman’s film “Amadeus”…
To complement the program and with a smaller ensemble, the group will also perform an original octet composed by Beethoven: “Octuet, Op. 103.”
As a “finale,” a version of the famous Adagio (2nd movement) from Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, arranged for the full ensemble of 13 musicians.

As part of the “Musique sur les côtes” Festival.
