Exposition - 1940-1960 : Revenir au village et reconstruire

Introduction

Expelled by the German occupiers in November 1940 and after spending more than four years in the southern departments of France, the residents of Lorry-Mardigny discovered, in the spring of 1945, the destruction caused by the battles of the Liberation. With a strong spirit of solidarity, they rebuilt not only their homes and villages but also a community life shaped by the cooperative and mutual aid movements. The exhibition chronicles these postwar years.
