Picnic areas:

In Metz there are picnic areas dotted along footpaths, cycle paths, in parks and squares, and at the lakeside, available for both local residents and tourists.

Benches and tables are scattered along the towpath alongside the canal between Montigny-lès-Metz and Saint Julien-lès-Metz. There are picnic tables at Scy-Chazelles marina. There are plenty of shaded benches at Metz lake and the marina.
