Le Fort Wagner

Built between 1904 and 1910 by the Germans, this fort comprises 7 buildings spread over 47 hectares and linked by 1.5 km of underground passageways. This fortified group on the Aisne is located near the commune of Verny.
It's what's known as a Festen, a fortification built during the annexation period. A unique sight: a turret in perfect working order.
Blank firing demonstration with the 5.3 cm close-in defense cannon. Several uniformed events will be organized throughout the season.
Short 2.5-hour tours on first Sundays from May to October at 2.30pm. Long tours of 4h30 by appointment only.
For groups of more than 8 people, we welcome you all year round by reservation, and organize your visit à la carte (duration and schedule). For school groups, the tour can be adapted to a possible educational project. Group visits throughout the year by prior arrangement.
