Introduction
Two employees in gray lab coats, from some government agency or another, spend their days making paper boats. As we turn a page, we’re plunged into a whimsical world where paper in all its forms gives free rein to their imagination. These two big kids then sweep us up into a farcical adventure set off the coast of Brittany.
Every morning, Monsieur goes out fishing, but on this particular day, he’s the one who gets caught by a terrifying factory ship.
Meanwhile, Madame waits. Convinced that her man is alive, she sets out to find him; this marks the beginning of a perilous game of cat-and-mouse across an ocean in all its forms.
A silent story with plenty of seagulls.
A show without words.
*An Ocean of Love*, an epic, poetic, and puppet-driven odyssey, is a stage adaptation of the graphic novel by Grégory Panaccione and Wilfrid Lupano. It explores love and routine, the passage of time, loneliness, pollution, consumer society, storms and surf, and trivial thoughts that become great ideas.
