Galerie PJ is pleased to invite you to discover “A One-Way Itinerary,” an exhibition featuring the latest works by Japanese artist Shinpei Okawa.
By discovering a method that allows the two panels of a painting to be freely rearranged, both horizontally and vertically, Shinpei Okawa has found a way to move freely between the interior and exterior of the pictorial space. Within this expanded space, fragments of his personal memories are scattered among various motifs, all rendered with exceptional precision.
Okawa’s work embodies a new form of surrealism for the 21st century: a surrealism born of a revolutionary method that fundamentally rethinks the very possibilities of painting.
