Introduction

Born in Madrid in 1997, Javier Carro Temboury is a sculptor whose practice blends found objects, craft and participatory protocols. Based in Paris since 2015, he graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2021 with honors. The 2/4 Flea Market project takes the form of an installation made up of flea market stalls recreated at actual size. A jagged line crosses the space and divides it rigorously into four quarters, interrupting tables and objects, left deliberately incomplete. This boundary suggests a tension within the room, between the two quarters occupied by an accumulation of objects typical of these shops and two others left empty, revealing a radical friction between the museum space and the commercial.
